I took a photo of Eleanor sitting in our Eames rocking chair and wearing her pin each month until she turned two years old. I continued the photo project by then switching to yearly photos instead. I did the same for her younger brother, August, and her baby brother, Calvin.
I chose to photograph Eleanor in the same setting, our living room, for a sense of scale. I dressed her in a pink onesie for the first year (purchased in several sizes ahead of time) and a white dress for the second (again in several sizes) for continuity and to keep visual distractions to a minimum. I made her pin out of felt and the center button was changed each month for a new number.
